barre3 Acquires San Diego-Based Studio Barre

SAN DIEGO – Tuesday, Feb. 11 –  Barre3, a leading barre fitness brand based in Portland, Ore., has officially acquired Studio Barre, a San Diego-based boutique fitness company with 12 locations nationwide, including six in San Diego County.  This marks Barre3's third acquisition and signals a significant expansion for the company.

"We are incredibly honored to welcome Studio Barre into our barre3 network,” says Sadie Lincoln, CEO and co-founder of barre3. “I am impressed with the owners of these studios. These women are driven by purpose and passion and eager to grow their respective businesses with the support of barre3. This combination of purpose and drive is powerful, and I can't wait to see the positive changes we collectively make as we enter this new era of growth together.”

Founded in San Diego in 2008 by Shannon Higgins, Studio Barre quickly built a local reputation for delivering fun, high-energy workouts in an inclusive and empowering environment. With studio locations in California, Montana, Rhode Island, and South Carolina, the brand has cultivated a dedicated following that embraces its vibrant community-focused approach.

"It has been the greatest honor of my life being the founder and creator of Studio Barre,” says Higgins. “When I first envisioned Studio Barre, my dream was to build a space where people could come together, challenge themselves, and grow. Above all else, Studio Barre has always been about community—welcoming, supportive, and inclusive. Today, that community has found its new home with barre3. I am beyond thrilled to see how our shared values—passion for our clients, dedication to their experience, and commitment to their fitness growth—will continue to thrive.”

A key highlight of this transition is the introduction of these existing Studio Barre franchise owners into the barre3 network, including the six studios in San Diego County. “What truly sets barre3 apart is our owner network, and I'm incredibly excited to have more local owners to collaborate with and support one another as we grow this community together,” says Salina Navarro, owner of barre3 San Diego. “This exciting growth gives even more San Diegans access to our inclusive, empowering workout, furthering our mission to teach people to be balanced in body and empowered from within.”

These dedicated entrepreneurs will bring fresh energy and expertise to the brand while benefiting from barre3's extensive support system. "Barre3 is redefining what success in fitness truly means," shares Kaylie Wall, owner of Studio Barre Carlsbad. “I'm beyond thrilled to offer my clients the opportunity to experience the magic of barre3—not just through the workouts, but by learning how to sustain their bodies and fitness goals with a long-term approach. The resources and support they provide are unmatched, and I can't wait to see the transformation it brings to our clients.”

The transition of the six San Diego-area Studio Barre locations to barre3 studios is expected to be completed by September 2025, joining the existing barre3 San Diego studio in North Park.
